現代の日本の海岸で巨大魔化魍オロチが出現し、ヒビキと明日夢が駆けつけ戦うが、ヒビキはオロチに敗れて深手を負い意識不明の状態になって入院する。自責の念に駆られる明日夢はヒビキを救う手がかりを猛士の古文書のオロチの記述に求めるが、その文献には自分と同じ「明日夢」という名と、鬼たちの物語が載っていた……。 古文書に書かれていたのは戦国時代のとある村。そこではオロチが毎年生贄を要求していた。その生贄に明日夢の知り合いであるひとえが選ばれ、明日夢はなんとかしようと立花藤兵衛に相談、鬼に救ってもらおうという案の元、明日夢たちは鬼探しに行く。 最初に出会った鬼のカブキへ協力を約束、彼の紹介である鬼の元へ行く。しかし明日夢はその男ヒビキを一目見るや激怒した。彼は明日夢の兄である猛士の師匠だったが、明日夢は猛士をヒビキに殺されたと思っていたからであった。ヒビキも「自分は鬼を辞めた」と言い協力を断る。その後、明日夢たちはトウキ、イブキ、キラメキ、ニシキ、ハバタキ、トドロキを仲間に加え、オロチ退治を目指す。

Kamen Rider, also known as Masked Rider, is a Japanese media franchise consisting of tokusatsu television programs, films, and manga, created by manga artist Shotaro Ishinomori. Kamen Rider media generally features a motorcycle-riding superhero with an insect motif who fights supervillains, often known as kaijin. The franchise began in 1971 with the Kamen Rider television series, which followed college student Takeshi Hongo and his quest to defeat the world-conquering Shocker organization. The original series spawned television and film sequels and launched the Second Kaiju Boom on Japanese television during the early 1970s, impacting the superhero and action-adventure genres in Japan.
