Nell'agosto del 1989, la famiglia Carretta parte da Parma a bordo di un camper e scompare nel nulla. Per quasi un decennio, l'Italia intera segue il mistero della loro sparizione, tra avvistamenti e teorie che ipotizzano una fuga volontaria. Attraverso testimonianze in prima persona, il film esplora le ragioni che hanno celato la verità per così tanto tempo, rivelando una storia complessa e toccante.
