Deep in the Vera Cruz province of Mexico, philology researcher Martin searches for the dying indigenous language of Zikril. When he locates two surviving speakers, he also discovers a bitter feud that may cause Zikril to vanish forever. As Martin chases language and history in a desperate attempt to preserve both, he uncovers a supernatural, ancestral tale of unrequited pure love.
