Angel Gutiérrez is an ordinary petty employee, with a bullet-proof honesty and a desperatingly weak character who somehow gets married to beautiful Rosa, who diminishes and despises him, even belittling his last name as "little Gutiérrez" or "gutierritos" In his deepest dreams, though, Gutiérrez conceals a strong and powerful vision of himself, writing down his daily misfortune in his memoirs and submitting them for publishing, hoping for the best.
