Camille Morestan est un honorable commerçant parisien désigné pour la première fois comme juré. Il doit se prononcer sur le cas de Nathalie Roguin qui a abattu son amant. Camille est persuadée que la jeune femme est innocente et plaide sa cause auprès des autres jurés. Nathalie est acquittée et Camille lui offre un emploi sous un faux nom dans son magasin. Mais sa présence provoque bientôt des événements dramatiques...
