テレビ東京系の長寿番組「ペット大集合！ポチたま」（2000年10月～10年3月）で人気を博したコーナー「まさお君が行く!!ポチたまペットの旅」を原案に、食いしん坊で天然なラブラドールレトリーバーのまさおと、コンビの相方にも同棲していた恋人にも去られてしまい伸び悩む若手芸人の松本が、全国を行脚しながら絆を深めていく姿を描く。主人公の芸人・松本秀樹役で香取慎吾が主演。松本の元恋人・里美役で広末涼子、番組AD役で成海璃子らが共演する。監督は「NANA」「ランウェイ☆ビート」の大谷健太郎。
