Im Jahre 1820 begibt sich der Tiroler Landvermesser Josef Naus (Johannes Zirner) ins Zugspitzgebiet, um auch diese Gegend zu kartographieren. Mit welchen Widerständen er fertig werden muss, bis er erfolgreich die Zugspitze besteigen kann, und wie er die Liebe seines Lebens findet, davon handelt "Gipfelsturm".
