Ferdydurke

The protagonist of this philosophical novel by Witold Gombrowicz is thirty-year-old Józio, who dreams that he has been transported back to his junior high school. The grotesque distance from the world and the psychological disconnect between adulthood and immaturity of the hero, who is violently disguised as a schoolboy - are the source of the specific comedy of this novel, as well as its television adaptation.
