Fantômas is a man of many disguises. He uses Theatrical makeup as a weapon. He can impersonate anyone using an Prosthetic makeup and can create endless confusion by constantly changing his appearance. In the first episode of the series he is unhappy with Fandor, because of a fictitious interview the journalist wrote about him. He takes his revenge by abducting Fandor and threatening to kill him. He then uses his formidable makeup skills to commit a spectacular crime while disguised like Fandor. When commissaire Juve joins the chase, chameleon-like Fantômas promptly commits a crime wearing a mask looking like Juve. In the end Fandor, Juve and Fandor's girlfriend Hélène are all on the master criminal's trail, all to no avail as the man of a thousand masks finally manages to escape.
Un personnage mystérieux commet des vols et des crimes dans la capitale sous le nom de Fantômas. Le commissaire Juve et le journaliste Fandor enquêtent chacun a leur manière sur cette affaire. Ils ne croient pas à l'existence d'un tel malfaiteur. Mais ils se retrouvent confrontés a Fantômas, dont la méthode consiste à utiliser des masques pour commettre ses méfaits. Il prend ainsi diverses identités dont celles de nos deux héros.

Als Journalist Fandor in einem imaginären Interview Fantomas lächerlich macht, reagiert der auf seine Art und begeht in der Maske Juves und Fandors mehrere Verbrechen. Der Kommissar und der Journalist landen hinter Gittern, wo sie Fantomas persönlich befreit. Juve und Fandor drehen den Spieß um und jagen Fantomas, der in einem Flugboot entkommt.
