Basada en la novela "El hijo adoptivo" de Álvaro Pombo. Pancho, un anciano de setenta años de edad, vive aislado en un pazo gallego, no lejos del mar, donde es atendido por una anciana e insondable criada. De repente, en su vida irrumpe el pasado con la inesperada visita de un hombre que veinte años antes había sido su secretario. Poco después, un niño, el hijo de ese hombre, se instala en el pazo. El regreso del pasado tendrá consecuencias imprevisibles.
