Mice have taken over the household. Its silence is thick with words unspoken. A mother, a child and a lover are pulled together and pushed apart by their love and soon find themselves trapped in a labyrinth of listlessness. Laura, a professional archeologist lost in an existential crisis, renounces everything, and watches her life hit a dead end. Unemployed and exhausted by the load of childrearing, she wastes away the days in front of the television. Mara, her lover, is hard hit by Laura's passiveness and tries to make her react. But depression has turned their relationship into a breeding ground for mice as Laura refuses to stare reality in the face. Unable to set clear boundaries, Laura is weighed down by the demands of her child, her lover and her mice. Mara, unsettled by Laura's indolence, and in an attempt to foster a healthier environment for Claudia, decides to "chase away their problems" and confronts the mice in an instinctive and animalistic fight over territory.
