In der Nacht zum 17. Februar 1962 drückte der Orkan "Vincinette" riesige Wassermassen von der Nordsee in die Elbe, schützende Deiche brachen an 60 Stellen. Das Wasser überflutete tiefer liegende Stadtgebiete Hamburgs, riss Menschen, Tiere und Häuser mit sich - 315 Todesopfer waren zu beklagen. Die Dokumentation erinnert mit Archivbildern und Aussagen von Zeitzeugen an die Naturkatastrophe.
