Berlin, shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall: Eddy from the east is the undisputed number 1 in the business: nobody sticks as quickly as he does. In the evenings, the bill poster sits in his booth, feeds peanuts and ponders why women only ever fly at his "friend" Ralf. The gloomy hours are over suddenly when Eddy is discovered for an advertising campaign. As "Shaky the peanut man" he makes it big. With a drilled Golf GTI and a lot of loud hi-fi boom, he dashes into new life. His recently established tender bond with the luscious Margot falls by the wayside - Dietmar Klein scoffs at stupid advertising and caricatures East-West sensitivities - a deserved Max Ophüls Prize winner in 1992.
