Homosexualität war in der DDR anfangs ein Tabu. Sie galt der SED- und Staatsführung als Überbleibsel bürgerlich-dekadenter Moral. Gegen die Diskriminierung und Ausgrenzung setzten sich Schwule und Lesben zur Wehr.
