Over twice the speed of sound at Mach 2.04, but for its limited 92-128 max. passenger seats, its extremely expensive round-trip ticket price, for instance, from New York to London was $7,995; equals $125,000.00 in 2018 dollars, more than 30 times the cost of the cheapest option to fly this route in 1997, Concorde was doomed, entered service in 1976 and retired in 2003.
