Made at the same time as Koyaanisqatsi, Concern for the City is a very different film. I feel that the sense of place which emerges from the film, sometimes evoking the island as the early Dutch explorers must have envountered its material presence within an envelope of mist and light, is different from the generalization of citiness which Koyaanisqatsi evokes.
