物語の舞台は新宿。いわゆる「Xデー」事件以来、同地区は隔離されている。毎月、法から逃れた犯罪者が謎の組織「アドニス」によって殺害される。彼らの最終目標は？この国から犯罪者を一掃するために! 近隣で働く若い警察官、星野一花は、パトロール中に見知らぬ男に襲われる。そして、彼女に毒の入った首飾りをつけ、それを外さないと死んでしまうと囁き、去っていく。首飾りを外して街を救うため、彼女は5人の元警察官とともに、この有名な組織を調査する。

Ichika Hoshino, une jeune policière qui vient d’entrer en poste dans la ville de Shinjuku, est attaquée par un mystérieux inconnu qui lui attache un collier empoisonné autour de cou.
Impossible pour elle de retirer l’objet, sous peine d’une mort immédiate et douloureuse. Pour parvenir à se libérer, la jeune femme n’a qu’une solution : enquêter sur le « X-Day Incident » un évènement au cours duquel, chaque mois, l’organisation terroriste Adonis élimine des criminels en fuite, avec comme objectif ultime de purger le pays de l’entièreté de ses hors-la-loi.
Pour l’aider dans sa mission et trouver une solution pour protéger la ville et se débarrasser du collier, cinq anciens policiers vont se joindre à l’enquête.
Le groupe parviendra-t-il à remonter jusqu’aux têtes pensantes d’Adonis et à faire toute la lumière sur cette mystérieuse affaire ?
