戦時下の、ある南の島。島いちばんの女子校に通うサンとマユは、陣地構築の作業が日常となった今も友人たちと明るく過ごしていた。しかし戦況は悪化。壕の中に作られた病院に看護隊として動員される。大勢の負傷兵の世話は過酷を極め、少女たちは疲弊していく。やがて壕は軍が使うことが決まり、それぞれが自力で逃げなければならないことに。銃弾が飛び交う中、サンとマユは南を目指す。変わってしまった世界に、希望はあるのか？

Together with their classmates, the two friends are drafted into the war effort as nurses for wounded soldiers. When ordered to die for their country, the remaining members of the group escape only to face the harsh environment of a tropical paradise that has become a hellish battlefield.
