A filmmaker and longtime Boston-area resident, returns to his native North Carolina for a “periodic transfusion of Southernness" and goes down a rabbit hole exploring his great-grandfather's trade in growing a variety of tobacco called bright-leaf tobacco and discovering that he may have been cheated out of his fortune by a rival.
