Seit 20 Jahren ist Boran auf der Flucht vor der Polizei. Damals war er nach einem erfolglosen Banküberfall ins Gefängnis gesteckt worden, von wo er aber geflohen ist. Zurückgelassen hat er nichts; seine Frau und der gemeinsame Sohn sind bei einem Autounfall ums Leben gekommen. Das denkt er zumindest, bis er eines Tages einen Brief bekommt, in dem ein kleines Mädchen behauptet, seine Enkelin zu sein.
