Die 15-jährige Anishoara (Anisoara Morari) lebt in dem kleinen Dorf Trebujeni in Moldawien. Ihre Mutter ist bereits verstorben, ihr Vater alkoholabhängig und ihr Bruder Andrei noch zu jung und so muss sie allein für den Unterhalt der Familie sorgen; Unterstützung bekommt sie lediglich von ihren Nachbarn. Dabei hat Anishoara als Teenager schon genug eigene Probleme und Erfahrungen zu bewältigen.
