Boulevardzeitungen griffen neben den Skandalen von Hollywoodschauspielern auch allzu gerne die von Gangstern auf. Al Capone war stets davon überzeugt, das Publikum auf seiner Seite zu haben. Auch andere Gangsterbosse wie Lucky Luciano nutzten später die Presse für sich. Frank Lefty Rosenthal, ein weiterer berühmt-berüchtigter Verbrecher aus Chicago, hatte neben dem Hotel Stardust, zahlreichen Etablissements und Casinos sogar seine eigene Fernsehshow.
