In this 2005 animated short by Shane Acker, a lone ragdoll-like creature named 9 awakens in a ruined, post-human world. As he explores the desolate city, he confronts a monstrous machine and fights for survival, hinting at the remnants of a lost civilization. This short served as the basis for the later feature film.
