Dividing his life between a brisk professional career and an unfailing love affair with Fabrizio, Alex is offered a job in New York. At almost forty, the choice is difficult: if she accepts, she can give up on her desire for a child. When she tries to tell Fabrizio about it, he begins to somatize and decides, without Alex's knowledge, to consult a shrink.
