This USA Network detective drama centers around Shawn Spencer, a young crime consultant for the Santa Barbara Police Department whose “heightened observational skills” and impressive eidetic memory allow him to convince people that he solves cases with psychic abilities, and his best friend and reluctant partner Burton ‘Gus’ Guster. The series ran for eight seasons (which included a beloved musical episode) between 2006 and 2014 and spawned three sequel films.
Thanks to his police officer father's efforts, Shawn Spencer spent his childhood developing a keen eye for detail (and a lasting dislike of his dad). Years later, Shawn's frequent tips to the police lead to him being falsely accused of a crime he solved. Now, Shawn has no choice but to use his abilities to perpetuate his cover story: psychic crime-solving powers, all the while dragging his best friend, his dad, and the police along for the ride.
Shawn, Gus and Juliet have relocated to San Francisco. After Juliet's partner Sam is shot, the Psych team attempts to find out who did it and why. Additionally, while a mysterious organization is blackmailing Juliet (by insinuating she has done something illegal), Shawn refuses to get married until he can locate his grandmother's stolen engagement ring, Chief Vick's daughter Iris has fallen in with a bad crowd, and Gus is being pursued by an attractive woman who uses all the best moves in his own playbook.
After Santa Barbara Police Chief Carlton Lassiter is ambushed and left for dead, Shawn and Gus return to help him and find themselves embroiled in a case involving the personal, the professional -- and even the supernatural.
In preparation for a shotgun wedding before the birth of Baby Guster, Shawn and Groomzilla Gus go rogue in an attempt to track down Selene's estranged husband, as Lassiter grapples with the future of his career.
