Sonja, a young, red-haired woman, is raped and left for dead by the soldiers of Queen Gedren, a despot who murdered Sonja's parents and brother after she scarred the queen's face in rejection of her sexual advances. Answering her cry for revenge, the red goddess, Scáthach, appears to her and gives her heightened strength, stamina, agility and fighting skills on the condition that she never lie with a man unless he defeats her in fair combat. She trains under a sword master called "The Grand Master" and is distrustful of all men besides him. At a nearby temple, Varna, Sonja's sister, is a member of an order of priestesses who are preparing to banish a mystical light-powered relic, the Talisman, that created the world and all living things. The Talisman can only be used and touched by women – men vanish if they touch it – and has become too powerful to control. However, Gedren's army and her aide-de-camp Ikol intervene and slaughter the priestesses and shield maidens before they can imprison it to permanent darkness.

Conan is the son of Corin, the chief of a barbarian tribe. The youth is a skilled but violent warrior, who his father believes is not ready to wield his own sword. Their village is attacked by Khalar Zym, a warlord who wishes to reunite the pieces of the Mask of Acheron to revive his dead wife and conquer Hyboria. After locating Corin's piece of the mask, and murdering the entire village, Zym leaves. Conan is the only survivor; who swears revenge.

He is to escort the Queen's niece, Jehnna, to a far away castle to retrieve the magic Horn of Dagoth
This series is a prequel to both the Conan movies and tell more stories featuring Conan and his friends.
Red Sonja is een tragikomische reeks over de 55-jarige Odette Willekens (Sien Eggers), die na een zwaar ongeval van haar echtgenoot Marcel (Luc Van Duyse) in financiële en sociale problemen is geraakt. Het koppel woont in een sociaal woonblok in Antwerpen. Om haar eenzaamheid en haar miserie te vergeten, vlucht Odette via haar pc in een virtuele wereld. Daar wordt ze Red Sonja (Charlotte Vandermeersch), een knappe en assertieve jonge vrouw die alles is wat zij niet is. Odette gaat zozeer op in haar alter ego dat voor haar de grens tussen werkelijkheid en virtualiteit soms vervaagt. Dan wordt ze (voor de kijker en voor zichzelf) ook ‘echt’ Red Sonja. Haar dagelijkse leven speelt zich af in het sociale woonblok, met zijn wel en wee tussen buren, vrienden en kennissen, met hun groot hart, maar vooral kleine kantjes. Die personages worden vertolkt door Machteld Ramoudt, Dirk Van Dijck, Stefaan Degand, Wim Willaert, Marijke Pinoy, Chris Willemsen, Evelien Bosmans en Peter Van den Eede. Red Sonja is een bitterzoete komedie die doet lachen met pijn in het hart. Deze broze evenwichtsoefening zit stevig geworteld in een herkenbare realiteit, maar flirt met een virtuele wereld.
