Clown character created for children's entertainment, widely popular in the second half of the 20th century. He was introduced in the United States in 1946, and to television in 1949, later appearing in franchised television programs of which he was the host, where he was portrayed by numerous local performers.
The Bozo Show was the longest running show on WGN-TV Chicago. It featured the cast of the original shows with sketches, cartoons (such as Rocky and Bullwinkle), a miniture game show called "Bozo's Grand Prize Game", and fun stuffs. In 1995, The was eliminated to weekends only and the show renamed as "The Bozo Super Weekend Show".
